En este trabajo hemos demostrado que las c\u00e9lulas acinares cultivadas en suspensi\u00f3n se desdiferencian, adquiriendo un fenotipo de progenitores pancre\u00e1ticos embrionarios. En estas c\u00e9lulas se induce un programa de senescencia asociado con la activaci\u00f3n de las v\u00edas de p53 y ras. Un fenotipo similar se evidencia en modelos de pancreatitis cr\u00f3nica experimental. Cultivos acinares en los que se ha inactivado p53 sobrepasan el bloqueo de crecimiento y pierden el fenotipo pancre\u00e1tico, presentando una transici\u00f3n epitelio-mesenquimal y manteniendo la expresi\u00f3n de marcadores de endodermo pre-pancre\u00e1tico y de c\u00e9lulas madre. Durante la inducci\u00f3n de una pancreatitis aguda experimental, la ausencia de p53 resulta en un incremento de la proliferaci\u00f3n acinar y en un retraso en la regeneraci\u00f3n. Nuestros resultados demuestran que la desdiferenciaci\u00f3n de las c\u00e9lulas acinares participa en el desarrollo de enfermedades pancre\u00e1ticas. El control del crecimiento celular y de la diferenciaci\u00f3n pancre\u00e1tica epitelial dependiente de p53 constituye un mecanismo de supresi\u00f3n tumoral que puede limitar el desarrollo del
