La qu\u00edmica anal\u00edtica ha experimentado, al igual que otras \u00e1reas de la ciencia, un gran cambio gracias a las necesidades y oportunidades que proporciona la nanociencia y nanotecnolog\u00eda anal\u00edticas.  en esta tesis doctoral se han realizado nuevas aportaciones al papel de los puntos cu\u00e1nticos o quantum dots (qds) en la nanociencia y nanotecnolog\u00eda anal\u00edticas. Este objetivo general se ha concretado mediante el desarrollo de los siguientes aspectos: 1)se ha contribuido al conocimiento de los qds para fomentar su empleo, incluyendo tanto el desarrollo de nuevas metodolog\u00edas de caracterizaci\u00f3n de qds, como el estudio de sus caracter\u00edsticas y fen\u00f3menos particulares. 2)se han desarrollado nuevas metodolog\u00edas anal\u00edticas basadas en qds para la mejora de los procesos (bio)qu\u00edmicos de medida, es decir, el empleo de los qds como herramienta anal\u00edtica. Las estrategias de an\u00e1lisis, adem\u00e1s de explotar las propiedades fotoluminiscentes, han aprovechado otras propiedades excepcionales de los qds con objeto de proponer nuevas posibilidades innovadoras. Tambi\u00e9n se han desarrollado estrategias novedosas de funcionalizaci\u00f3n de qds que permitieron obtener una respuesta espec\u00edfica o selectiva al analito de inter\u00e9s, evitando el empleo de las ya ampliamente utilizadas biomol\u00e9culas de reconocimiento selectivo, como por ejemplo anticuerpos o material gen\u00e9tico. 3)se han sintetizado, caracterizado y empleado nuevas nanopart\u00edculas hibridas derivadas de qds que ofrecen nuevas oportunidades para la mejora y desarrollo de m\u00e9todos de an\u00e1lisis.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la tesis
