Se us\u00f3 para ello un an\u00e1lisis tridimensional (evoluci\u00f3n de los contenidos entre ediciones del mismo libro, comparaci\u00f3n entre campos conceptuales relacionados y las relaciones cambios-contexto) para estudiar de manera sist\u00e9mica la obra de un autor de libros de texto tan compleja como lo es la de vallejo, que abarca todos los niveles educativos y toda la diversidad de sus contenidos matem\u00e1ticos; asimismo para caracterizar el contenido de cada uno de sus libros se realiz\u00f3 un an\u00e1lisis de contenido. Este doble enfoque de an\u00e1lisis nos permiti\u00f3 dar una perspectiva amplia del qu\u00e9 ense\u00f1an sus libros y c\u00f3mo evolucionan sus contenidos a lo largo de tiempo como resultado de la influencia del contexto del autor. los principales resultados son la identificaci\u00f3n del tratado elemental de matem\u00e1ticas como el eje que permite articular la obra del autor, adem\u00e1s se encontr\u00f3 que la diferencia entre los libros de primera ense\u00f1anza y las obras cient\u00edficas es la ausencia de demostraciones.
