Los dep\u00f3sitos extracelulares se forman por la agregaci\u00f3n del p\u00e9ptido beta-amiloide y en ellos se ha encontrado altas concentraciones de cationes met\u00e1licos esenciales (cu1+\/2+, fe2+\/3+ y zn2+). Diversos estudios relacionan la formaci\u00f3n de estos dep\u00f3sitos y la toxicidad observada con la interacci\u00f3n entre el p\u00e9ptido beta-amiloide y estos cationes.       en esta tesis doctoral se presenta un estudio computacional de la interacci\u00f3n de los cationes cu1+\/2+ y fe2+\/3+ con modelos del p\u00e9ptido beta-amiloide. El trabajo se enfoca principalmente en el an\u00e1lisis de la estructura electr\u00f3nica y molecular de los principales complejos que pueden formarse, y adem\u00e1s se calculan algunas propiedades
