Por el contrario, tambi\u00e9n pueden optar por compromiso entre los partidos y decidir colectivamente en cada \u00e1rea sectorial, con independencia del reparto de carteras. En su primer art\u00edculo, esta tesis ofrece un marco te\u00f3rico para entender esta variaci\u00f3n, con la intenci\u00f3n de identificar las condiciones bajo las cuales es m\u00e1s probable un tipo de gobernanza coalicional u otra. El segundo art\u00edculo testa emp\u00edricamente las implicaciones de estos argumentos sobre la forma como los miembros de una coalici\u00f3n se vigilan m\u00fatuamente mediante el uso de mecanismos de control. Finalmente, el tercer art\u00edculo ofrece un ejercicio emp\u00edrico donde se analiza hasta qu\u00e9 punto los votantes juzgan de manera diferente a cada uno de los socios de gobierno en funci\u00f3n del tipo de coalici\u00f3n al que se enfrentan.
