En este contexto uno de los reactivos m\u00e1s importantes en la qu\u00edmica del co2 es el carbonato de dimetilo (dmc). la presente tesis doctoral consta de 6 cap\u00edtulos de resultados que tienen en com\u00fan el sintetizar dmc por transalquilaci\u00f3n de carbonato de propileno (cap\u00edtulo 3) o el empleo de dmc como reactivo de metilaci\u00f3n de aminas arom\u00e1ticas (cap\u00edtulo 4 y 5) o carbamoilaci\u00f3n de aminas arom\u00e1ticas (cap\u00edtulo 6 y 7) o alif\u00e1ticas (cap\u00edtulo 8). La tesis pretende desarrollar nuevos catalizadores heterog\u00e9neos para estos procesos excepto en el caso de organocatalizadores en fase homog\u00e9nea (cap\u00edtulo 5). El resto de cap\u00edtulos de resultados est\u00e1n basados en el empleo de \u00f3xidos met\u00e1licos y particularmente el \u00f3xido de cerio como catalizador o soporte de nanopart\u00edculas met\u00e1licas. Los resultados de la presente tesis doctoral demuestran la actividad de \u00f3xido de cerio en las reacciones que emplean el dmc c\u00f3mo reactivo y como esta actividad intr\u00ednseca se ve aumentada cuando se depositan peque\u00f1as nanopart\u00edculas de oro. De especial relevancia tienen los resultados conseguidos en la dicarbamoilaci\u00f3n del 2,4-diaminotolueno con un catalizador de oro soportado en \u00f3xido de cerio y empleando dmc como reactivo, ya que se obtienen excelentes rendimientos hacia el producto de dicarbamoilaci\u00f3n siendo el catalizador estable y reutilizable en las condiciones descritas. En la preparaci\u00f3n de dicarbamatos del 2,4-diaminotolueno tiene relevancia en una ruta sint\u00e9tica de alternativa al fosgeno para la preparaci\u00f3n de isocianatos arom\u00e1ticos que son
