En este trabajo, la activaci\u00f3n del sec produjo una disminuci\u00f3n de la respuesta en la mayor\u00eda de las c\u00e9lulas tal\u00e1micas estudiadas. Efecto que fue mayor en actividad espont\u00e1nea que visual  induciendo un aumento de la relaci\u00f3n se\u00f1al-ruido. Lo cual se vi\u00f3 acompa\u00f1ado de una disminuci\u00f3n en la variabilidad de la respuesta. Efectos que se replicaron a nivel cortical, donde sin embargo no hubo alteraci\u00f3n de la relaci\u00f3n se\u00f1al ruido.   por otro lado, la estimulaci\u00f3n del sec produjo cambios en la actividad basal  de las c\u00e9lulas tal\u00e1micas, induciendo la aparici\u00f3n de una oscilaci\u00f3n lenta de tipo delta, la cual se vio acompa\u00f1ada por un incremento del disparo en r\u00e1fagas. Estos resultados demuestran que el sec participa en el filtrado y selecci\u00f3n de la informaci\u00f3n que se env\u00eda hacia la corteza y modifica el estado de alerta, facilitando modos de
