Esta continuidad configura lo que aqu\u00ed llamamos el problema que impide la interculturalidad, es decir, los factores que hacen que los di\u00e1logos entre culturas bajo condiciones justas no sean posibles y se conviertan en cambio en relaciones coloniales de poder.   los planteamientos que aqu\u00ed buscamos sostener son: que el problema que impide la interculturalidad se remonta al siglo xvi y contin\u00faa vigente hasta nuestros d\u00edas. Que la resistencia a las condiciones que impiden la realizaci\u00f3n intercultural tambi\u00e9n se remonta al siglo xvi. La resistencia nace con la represi\u00f3n hace m\u00e1s de cinco siglos y contin\u00faa hoy vigente con la fuerza \u00e9tica y epist\u00e9mica de iniciativas como el sistema ind\u00edgena intercultural de aprendizaje y estudios en chiapas (siidae). Solo la superaci\u00f3n de las condiciones de opresi\u00f3n creadas por la colonizaci\u00f3n y mantenidas a lo largo de los siglos puede dar lugar a la interculturalidad. Pero esta superaci\u00f3n no es posible sin una transformaci\u00f3n y diversificaci\u00f3n epistemol\u00f3gica. No es suficiente la proliferaci\u00f3n de los saberes si no hay un cuestionamiento de las bases sobre las que estos se formulan.
