Y sciuro-hypnum (hampe) hampe pertenecen a la familia brachytheciaceae, la complejidad de estos g\u00e9neros, que ha provocado que se tengan por g\u00e9neros de dif\u00edcil tratamiento taxon\u00f3mico, reside fundamentalmente en la elevada variabilidad morfol\u00f3gica que muestran muchas de sus especies, y en que la diferenciaci\u00f3n de \u00e9stas se basa principalmente en caracteres gametof\u00edticos. Esto conlleva que existan pocos caracteres para diferenciar las distintas especies entre s\u00ed. En los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os, la utilizaci\u00f3n de t\u00e9cnicas moleculares ha llevado a propuestas que han supuesto cambios en la sistem\u00e1tica del g\u00e9nero brachythecium. As\u00ed, ignatov &amp; huttunen (2002) y huttunen &amp; ignatov (2004) estudiaron las brachytheciaceae utilizando tres marcadores moleculares y acomodaron las especies antes ubicadas en brachythecium en el seno de tres g\u00e9neros distintos: brachytheciastrum, brachythecium y sciuro-hypnum.  \tel presente trabajo est\u00e1 basado en el estudio de alrededor de 3600 espec\u00edmenes depositados en diversos herbarios de todo el mundo as\u00ed como de numeroso material tipo correspondiente a las especies tratadas. \tpara la correcta identificaci\u00f3n de las 30 especies presentes en el \u00e1rea de estudio se aporta una clave general de todas las especies, as\u00ed como una clave para cada uno de los g\u00e9neros estudiados. \tpara todas las especies se aporta una descripci\u00f3n actualizada basada en material del \u00e1rea de estudio, su caracterizaci\u00f3n ecol\u00f3gica, su distribuci\u00f3n tanto mundial como del \u00e1rea de estudio, una peque\u00f1a discusi\u00f3n y la lista de material estudiado. \tla informaci\u00f3n aportada se completa con mapas de distribuci\u00f3n para cada una de las especies y de l\u00e1minas con dibujos, que facilitan la tarea de identificaci\u00f3n de los t\u00e1xones.  referencias huttunen s. &Amp; ignatov m.
