Se revisan los conceptos de liderazgo, sexo y g\u00e9nero, el acceso de la mujer al liderazgo, las teor\u00edas desarrolladas para intentar comprender dicha situaci\u00f3n y aquellas sobre las diferencias entre hombres y mujeres. Se revisan los estudios sobre la influencia y el liderazgo femenino. Se concluye que aunque hay diferencias en el liderazgo entre hombres y mujeres no las hay, o no son relevantes, entre directivos y directivas. en el estudio emp\u00edrico se eval\u00faan 3 bases de datos de directivos y directivas con dos cuestionarios, mbti con 4 funciones psicol\u00f3gicas y 16 tipos de personalidad, y firo-b que eval\u00faa las relaciones interpersonales con las variables inclusi\u00f3n, control y afecto. los resultados no son concluyentes. Hay peque\u00f1as diferencias entre directivos y directivas y no son congruentes con el estereotipo de g\u00e9nero. Parece que las diferencias entre directivos y directivas con hombres y mujeres son superiores a las encontradas entre diferentes sexos. Algunas de las variables estudiadas que se asocian a masculinidad (control) o femineidad (inclusi\u00f3n y afecto) tienen una mayor relaci\u00f3n estad\u00edstica con el tipo de empresa o la edad que con el sexo. Las directivas tienen una mayor preferencia por la extroversi\u00f3n (acci\u00f3n-masculina) que los hombres y por la toma de decisiones sentimiento (femenina), pero menor que lo esperado en las mujeres.
