No es f\u00e1cil conjugar estas dos facetas, perfectamente diferenciadas, pero intr\u00ednsecamente relacionadas, porque pueden ser complementarias. Utilizando metodolog\u00edas cuali tativas, se pone en evidencia el papel que en la ense\u00f1anza del arte han desempe\u00f1ado los propios artistas. En este trabajo se recogen las opiniones de diferentes artistas contempor\u00e1neos que han trabajado o desempe\u00f1an su labor en el \u00e1mbito de la ense\u00f1a nza art\u00edstica. Comprende legados hist\u00f3ricos dif\u00edciles de conseguir y se considera que pueden aportar experiencias que pueden permitir trabajar a otros artistas ense\u00f1antes. Otra de las aportaciones relevantes de esta tesis comprende las opiniones cuantitativas de los alumnos sobre la importancia de la docencia en las asignaturas ralacionadas con el arte y con la relaci\u00f3n del artista\/ense\u00f1ante en ese proceso. El material gr\u00e1fico y audiovisual recopilado a lo largo de m\u00e1s de veinte a\u00f1os de investigaci\u00f3n, -entre esteban vicente (mayo 1998) y noem\u00ed \u00e1vila (mayo 2011)-, enriquecen los textos tanto de los artistas encuestados como los del propio autor.
