Un conjunto es un sistema en el que un n\u00famero determinado de redes neuronales artificiales se entrenan con el fin de superar el rendimiento de clasificadores basados en una \u00fanica red.  en primer lugar, se ha introducido una comparativa de m\u00e9todos de dise\u00f1o de conjuntos existentes. Adem\u00e1s, se ha realizado una comparativa de m\u00e9todos de combinaci\u00f3n de las redes del conjunto. Por otra parte, hay otras alternativas a los conjuntos, como stacked generalizaci\u00f3n y mixutre of experts, que tambi\u00e9n han sido analizadas.  fruto de los conocimientos adquiridos, es la introducci\u00f3n de los nuevos m\u00e9todos que aparecen en esta tesis. Concretamente estos son: dos nuevos m\u00e9todos boosting, una metodolog\u00eda nueva (cross-validated boosting) y dos algoritmos de reordenamiento. Los m\u00e9todos de dise\u00f1o de conjuntos que hemos propuesto en esta tesis, en general, obtienen los mejores resultados. Por otra parte, tambi\u00e9n se ha introducido un marco expermental que puede ser reproducido por otros autores para comparar sus resultados, actuales o futuros, con los mostrados en la
