Aparte de su caracterizaci\u00f3n, la cual incluye desde su imagianrio hasta los \u00e1mbitos de influencia en los que interviene, hemos analizado la traducci\u00f3n de su papel socioecon\u00f3mico y pol\u00edtico, pudiendo analizar, desde una perspectiva materialista hist\u00f3rica, las consecuencias de su culto.  esto nos ha permitido adentrarnos en la realidad pol\u00edtica de la \u00e9lite cusque\u00f1a, identificando ciertos conflictos de inter\u00e9s entre grupos, as\u00ed como las estrategias de poder que utiliz\u00f3 la facci\u00f3n que ostentaba el poder imperial. La institucionalizaci\u00f3n del culto a illapa, responder\u00eda a una de estas estrategias, motivo por el cual, no podemos entender a la divinidad sin considerar las implicaciones que su culto tuvo
