En esta reacci\u00f3n domin\u00f3 se emplean como materiales de partida asequibles aductos de baylis-hillman ac\u00edclicos y amiduros de litio como auxiliares quirales. Se ha realizado un intenso estudio de la reactividad de los aductos de baylis-hillman derivados de cinamaldeh\u00eddo, lo que nos ha permitido establecer el mecanismo de reacci\u00f3n y aplicar eficazmente esta metodolog\u00eda a la s\u00edntesis de derivados de aplicaci\u00f3n en biomedicina, dada la posibilidad de funcionalizar el doble enlace, o provocar su oxidaci\u00f3n para descubrir la funci\u00f3n carbox\u00edlica que lleva enmascarada. por lo tanto, aprovechando esta metodolog\u00eda se han sintetizado una gran variedad de productos con esqueleto piperid\u00ednico como: 1) un precursor de los alcaloides (+)-febrifugina e (+)-isofebrifugina, 2) los \u00e1cidos cis- y trans-2,3-piperidindicarbox\u00edlicos, los cu\u00e1les presentan una importante actividad biol\u00f3gica frente a des\u00f3rdenes neurol\u00f3gicos como el parkinson, la epilepsia y el alzheimer y  3) mon\u00f3meros c\u00edclicos de apn derivados del \u00e1cido nipec\u00f3ticoy pipec\u00f3lico (\u00e1cidos nucle\u00edcos pept\u00eddicos), los cu\u00e1les son unos importantes hom\u00f3logos de oligonucle\u00f3tidos del adn y arn que se utilizan como potentes agentes ant\u00edgenos. Tambi\u00e9n, se ha extendido esta metodolog\u00eda a la s\u00edntesis de mon\u00f3meros lineales y se abierto una nueva l\u00ednea de investigaci\u00f3n de obtenci\u00f3n de una gran variedad de apn
