Se trata por tanto de un m\u00e9todo desacoplado en el que en ning\u00fan momento se discretiza la condici\u00f3n de contorno sobre la superficie libre. As\u00ed, la habilidad de connffessit para tratar modelos que no disponen de ecuaci\u00f3n constituitiva anal\u00edtica viene reforzada con un nueva t\u00e9cnica de c\u00e1lculo de superficies libres.  el m\u00e9todo presentado en esta tesis se ha aplicado con \u00e9xito al hinchamiento de un fluido viscoel\u00e1stico a la salida de un canal cil\u00edndrico lo que supone una modelizaci\u00f3n del problema del hinchamiento del fundido a la salida de la boquilla en el proceso de extrusi\u00f3n. Dado lo novedoso del m\u00e9todo, los resultados obtenidos se han comparado con soluciones de referencia basadas en la mec\u00e1nica del continuo. Junto al estudio de la forma de la superficie libre se ha realizado un estudio detallado del campo de esfuerzos as\u00ed como de la informaci\u00f3n molecular asociada.  el m\u00e9todo tambi\u00e9n se ha aplicado con \u00e9xito al problema de la extensi\u00f3n de un filamento viscoel\u00e1stico lo que supone una modelizaci\u00f3n de los experimentos existentes para la medida de la viscosidad elongacional. En este caso, adem\u00e1s del estudio de la superficie libre en distintas condiciones, se ha prestado especial atenci\u00f3n a la homogeneidad del flujo obtenido, aspecto fundamental en la medida de
