Tras la s\u00edntesis de los materiales la caracterizaci\u00f3n \u00f3ptica incluye un profundo y detallado trabajo en el que se describen los mecanismos de conversi\u00f3n de energ\u00eda infrarroja en  visible que explican las emisiones presentes en las muestras. Las emisiones en la regi\u00f3n infrarroja tambi\u00e9n se estudian con riguroso detalle para comprobar la calidad de estas muestras para ser utilizadas como l\u00e1seres o amplificadores
