Angeles Vazquez Sanchez <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>La prote\u00edna laforina est\u00e1 codificada por el gen epm2a, que fue el primer gen caracterizado como responsable de la enfermedad de lafora, un tipo de epilepsia miocl\u00f3nica progresiva.  \tlaforina es una fosfatasa de actividad dual que pertenece a la familia de las dusp (dual-specificity phosphatase), que tiene la capacidad de defosforilar residuos tirosina y serina\/treonina. Esta prote\u00edna puede interaccionar con m\u00faltiples prote\u00ednas, destacando su uni\u00f3n con malina, una e3-ubiquitin ligasa, gsk3 y ptg. \texisten trabajos que relacionan la falta de laforina con el desarrollo de linfomas en modelos animales. Tambi\u00e9n se ha descrito su implicaci\u00f3n en apoptosis y, m\u00e1s recientemente en autofagia. Con este trabajo nos planteamos profundizar en el an\u00e1lisis de esta prote\u00edna en relaci\u00f3n con c\u00e1ncer en humanos y estudiar el efecto que causan tanto su sobreexpresi\u00f3n como su inhibici\u00f3n en modelos celulares. \tdurante este estudio se evalu\u00f3 la expresi\u00f3n de laforina en diferentes tipos de tumores humanos y se observ\u00f3 que en un alto porcentaje de linfomas y de carcinomas de colon, ri\u00f1\u00f3n y mama se produce la inhibici\u00f3n de su expresi\u00f3n. En lesiones benignas de colon ya se apreci\u00f3 esta p\u00e9rdida de expresi\u00f3n, lo que sugiere que la inhibici\u00f3n de laforina se produce en fases iniciales de la transformaci\u00f3n tumoral. Para evaluar el efecto de la sobreexpresi\u00f3n y de la inhibici\u00f3n de laforina, se realizaron diferentes experimentos in vitro usando l\u00edneas celulares.
