El componente principal de las placas seniles es el p\u00e9ptido \u00edY  amiloide,  compuesto por entre 39 y 42 amino\u00e1cidos y producido por la ruptura de una prote\u00edna transmembrana transitoria llamada prote\u00edna precursora de amiloide (app).  Es sabido que la acumulaci\u00f3n del p\u00e9ptido amiloide antecede la cl\u00ednica de la ea y que un exceso en su producci\u00f3n favorece la instauraci\u00f3n de la cl\u00ednica,  por lo que la toxicidad del p\u00e9ptido y sus agregados se consideran como una de las causas  de la demencia senil. El mecanismo preciso de c\u00f3mo un desequilibrio en la producci\u00f3n y acumulaci\u00f3n del p\u00e9ptido amiloide ocasiona la ea es complejo se ha asociado a varias teor\u00edas sin embargo no es bien conocido.  se realizaron registros intracelulares en la modalidad de fijaci\u00f3n de corriente en rodajas cerebrales de ratas wistar, utilizando electrodos de vidrio con una resistencia entre 150 ta 250 m\u00c2\u00bf con acetato de potasio 2m. Los cuales se colocaron en la regi\u00f3n ca3.  inicialmente se realiz\u00f3 la caracterizaci\u00f3n neuronal mediante la inyecci\u00f3n de pulsos de corriente despolarizante e hiperpolarizantes, posterior a la estabilizaci\u00f3n de la neurona distintas sustancias fueron a\u00f1adidas a l\u00edquido de perfusi\u00f3n.  la adici\u00f3n de apv y cnqx \u00f3 ttx favorece el aislamiento funcional de la c\u00e9lula. Las sustancias estudiadas fueron:  agonistas del receptor muscar\u00ednco de acetilcolina (muscarina), agonistas selectivos (mcna343), antagonistas (atropina), antagonistas selectivos (pirenzepina), inhibidores de la pkc (chelerytrine), inhibidores receptor de ip3 y bloqueantes del canal kcnq  (linopiridina, bario, xe991).  no se encontraron diferencias en el efecto del \u00edY-amiloide en las propiedades electrofisiol\u00f3gicas en presencia de atropina, pirenzepina, muscarina, mcna343, chelerytrine, 2-apb \u00f3 linopiridina; s\u00ed al utilizar bario \u00f3 xe991.
