Adem\u00e1s, tambi\u00e9n se han estudiado diversas estrategias para procesar y asimilar estos datos gps en los modelos con el prop\u00f3sito de obtener una mejora en la predicci\u00f3n de precipitaci\u00f3n a corto plazo.  la aplicaci\u00f3n meteorol\u00f3gica m\u00e1s adecuada de la t\u00e9cnica gps es probablemente la asimilaci\u00f3n de los datos en modelos meteorol\u00f3gicos con el m\u00e9todo variacional. sin embargo, es necesario determinar previamente como estos modelos simulan las observaciones obtenidas con la t\u00e9cnica gps.  por este motivo, en esta tesis hemos analizado la comparaci\u00f3n entre las observaciones derivadas con el sistema gps y los valores obtenidos con tres modelos de mesoscala diferentes (hirlam, mm5 y mass) y en situaciones meteorol\u00f3gicas distintas. Los resultados de la comparaci\u00f3n dependen de la resoluci\u00f3n del modelo y de las condiciones atmosf\u00e9ricas presentes en la zona. En este estudio comparativo hemos enfatizado el desarrollo de un procesado en tiempo casi real de los datos gps para evaluar las predicciones de uno de estos modelos num\u00e9ricos.  un a vez analizada la comparaci\u00f3n entre los dos m\u00e9todos (t\u00e9cnica gps y modelos meteorol\u00f3gicos) hemos pasado a estudiar el impacto de la asimilaci\u00f3n variacional de los datos gps en los modelos. Se ha explorado la capacidad el m\u00e9todo variacional tetra-dimensional (4d-var) para evaluar el impacto de los datos gps en un modelo de predicci\u00f3n meteorol\u00f3gica. Con este prop\u00f3sito hemos estudiado dos casos diferentes. Primero, se ha dise\u00f1ado una situaci\u00f3n hipot\u00e9tica en la que cada punto de malla estaba provista de un receptor gps y un bar\u00f3metro. En estas condiciones, la masa de agua precipitable ha sido  asimilada en cda punto de malla del dominio.
