Esta orientaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica enfatiza el conocimiento de los clientes y de los competidores. Tanto los modelos te\u00f3ricos como las evidencias emp\u00edricas evidencian que la mo tie ne un efecto positivo robusto en el desempe\u00f1o organizacional. Por otra parte, la generalizaci\u00f3n de este concepto acaba por estar en la g\u00e9nesis de una fragilidad de esta orientaci\u00f3n estrat\u00e9gica puesto que, al ser adoptada de forma casi universal, no p osibilita la obtenci\u00f3n de ventajas competitivas sostenibles. la orientaci\u00f3n emprendedora (eo), que enfatiza la innovaci\u00f3n, la proactividad y la capacidad de correr riesgos, ha sido referenciada como alternativa estrat\u00e9gica. aunque hay autores que con sideran que estas dos visiones son mutuamente excluyentes, es nuestro objetivo demostrar que son compatibles y que es posible usarlas en forma combinada.
