Mediante la quimiotaxonomia de pigmentos, se ha observado que las algas verdes mas abundantes son las clorofitas y que son dominantes en la fraccion picoplanctonica de la parte exterior del estuario durante los meses de verano. En el total de la comunidad predominan las algas con fucoxantina y las criptofitas.  En cuanto a la fraccion picoplanctonica, estudiada mediante tecnicas de epifluorescencia, citometria de flujo y tsa-fish, se observa que entre las algas con ficoeritrina  predominan las cianobacterias del genero synechococcus y entre las algas sin ficoeritrina, los picofitoeucariotas. En este ultimo destacan las clorofitas, siendo mas de 2\/3  del total, dominando el orden mamiellales, cuyo principal representante es el genero micromonas. Junto con estas conclusiones se discute en  torno a la aplicabilidad de las citadas tecnicas para el estudio del picoplancton y se proponen diversas medidas a tomasr para una correcta interpretacion de sus resultados y\/o aplicaciones alternativas que mejorarian su rendimiento. Finalmente, se identifican 13 especies distintas entre las 26 cepas de algas verdes cuya morfolog\u00eda ha sido analizada mediante microscopia optica y electronica.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
