Para ello, todas las coordenadas han sido referenciadas a una l\u00ednea que une las comisuras blancas anterior y posterior (l\u00ednea ac-pc), consider\u00e1ndose el centro de ac en la l\u00ednea media como el origen del espacio bicomisural. El atlas comprende 43 planos diferentes (19 niveles coronales, 19 niveles sagitales y 14 niveles horizontales). Aparte de t\u00e9cnicas \u00c2\u00bfcl\u00e1sicas\u00c2\u00bf de cito- y quimioarquitectura, han sido empleadas diferentes tinciones inmunohistoqu\u00edmicas en secciones adyacentes, incluyendo la detecci\u00f3n de tirosina hidroxilasa, encefalina, neurofilamentos, parvalb\u00famina y calbindina. Por comparaci\u00f3n con otros atlas estereot\u00e1cticos existentes para macaca fascicularis, este atlas presenta dos ventajas principales: en primer lugar, la cartograf\u00eda cerebral se ha basado en una gran variedad de tinciones cito- y quimioarquitecturales, por lo que se ha conseguido una segmentaci\u00f3n muy exacta. En segundo lugar y m\u00e1s importante, han sido incluidos planos sagitales y horizontales. Los planos sagitales son muy \u00fatiles a la hora de calcular trayectorias oblicuas, en tanto que los investigadores cl\u00ednicos que realizan estudios de neuroimagen se encontrar\u00e1n m\u00e1s familiarizados con los planos horizontales, por ser precisamente las im\u00e1genes obtenidas en los planos horizontales (tambi\u00e9n llamados \u00c2\u00bfaxiales\u00c2\u00bf), las m\u00e1s
