La regi\u00f3n cromos\u00f3mica que present\u00f3 ganancia de material gen\u00e9tico m\u00e1s frecuentemente se encuentra en 7p, mientras que las deleciones m\u00e1s frecuentes se dieron en los cromosomas 10 y 13q. No se encontraron deleciones en 9p donde se ha descrito una gran frecuencia de deleciones homocig\u00f3ticas en glioblastomas. Nuestros resultados de cgh nos llevaron a investigar posteriormente el estado de los genes pten (10q23.3) y p16(9p21) en astrocitomas. La tecnolog\u00eda aplicada ha sido: pcr-sscp-secuenciaci\u00f3n, pcr diferencial y pcr especifica para metilaci\u00f3n. Nuestros resultados muestran que pten diferencial y pcr especifica para metilaci\u00f3n.Nuestros resultados muestran que pten se encuentra mutado en un 27% de glioblastomas, pero no en astrocitomas de grado ii y iii.P16 sufrio deleciones homocig\u00f3ticas en 27% de glioblastomas y 13% de astrocitomas de bajo grado. La metilaci\u00f3n de p16 en el promotor se detect\u00f3 en un 9% de los casos de glioblastomas y un 6% de astrocitomas de bajo grado.  a fin de investigar m\u00e1s especificamente el papel funcional de pten en glioblastomas, construimos una linea celular empaquetadora que produce ventores retrov\u00edricos que expresan pten de tipo salvaje (no mutado). Hemos usado el vector para infectar la linea celular a172 que contiene una delecion homicig\u00f3tica de pten. Hemos encontrado que, tras la transducci\u00f3n de pten, se redujo el crecimiento y proliferaci\u00f3n de la l\u00ednea celular a172 en un 50% ademas de elevarse significativamente la expresi\u00f3n de p27 y de reducirse la de akt activa (foforilada). Estos resultados sugieren que la sobreexpresi\u00f3n de pten en c\u00e9lulas de glioblastoma que carecen de pten es suficiente para inhibir el crecimiento celular de estas mediante la
