Actualmente, snd1 est\u00e1 despertando inter\u00e9s como posible diana terap\u00e9utica debido a su sobrexpresi\u00f3n en c\u00e9lulas tumorales. Considerando la trascendencia de conocer c\u00f3mo se controla la expresi\u00f3n de snd1, en el presente trabajo hemos aislado y caracterizado la regi\u00f3n promotora del gen snd1. El promotor del gen snd1 humano posee un 98% de homolog\u00eda con el promotor del gen de rata sndp102, previamente aislado en nuestro laboratorio. En ambos promotores, se han identificado lugares de uni\u00f3n funcionales para los factores de transcripci\u00f3n sp1 y nf-y que se localizan en una regi\u00f3n proximal altamente conservada en ambas especies y que resultan determinantes para la expresi\u00f3n del gen. Nuestros resultados demuestran la uni\u00f3n in vivo de srebps en una regi\u00f3n proximal de los promotores donde se localizan elementos de uni\u00f3n sre y e-box. La sobreexpresi\u00f3n de srebp-1c inhibe la actividad transcripcional de los dos promotores. Este efecto inhibidor parece requerir, adem\u00e1s del srebp, la cooperaci\u00f3n de los factores sp1 y nf-y. Por otra parte, los factores de transcripci\u00f3n ppars parecen estar implicados en la regulaci\u00f3n de los promotores de rata y humano ya que la sobreexpresi\u00f3n de las isoformas ppar\u00c2\u00bf y ppar\u00c2\u00bf produce una estimulaci\u00f3n de la actividad promotora en ambas especies. Sin embargo, la activaci\u00f3n de ppars mediante ligandos espec\u00edficos \u00fanicamente estimula la transcripci\u00f3n del gen snd1 humano.
