Esta es una respuesta directa a la falta de observaciones globales de humedad del suelo y salinidad de los oc\u00e9anos. Su objetivo es elaborar mapas globales de estos par\u00e1metros utilizando un radi\u00f3metro interferom\u00e9trico con doble polarizaci\u00f3n en banda l llamado  microwave imaging radiometer by apertura synthesis (miras). Este instrumento es un nuevo radi\u00f3metro interferom\u00e9trico de apertura sint\u00e9tica polarim\u00e9trico de dos dimensiones (2-d) en forma de y  basado en las t\u00e9cnicas utilizadas en la radio-astronom\u00eda para obtener alta resoluci\u00f3n angular evitando grandes estructuras de antenas. Miras mide de forma remota la temperatura de brillo (tb) emitida por la superficie de la tierra, que no es is\u00f3tropa, ya que depende del \u00e1ngulo de incidencia y la polarizaci\u00f3n, la humedad del suelo (sm) o la salinidad superficial del mar (sss), la rugosidad de la superficie, etc, entre otros. El alcance de esta tesis doctoral es el estudio de algunas posibles mejoras que podr\u00edan eventualmente ser aplicadas en  futuros radi\u00f3metros interferom\u00e9tricos. Para validar estas mejoras un instrumento terrestre demostrador de concepto passive advanced unit synthetic apertura o (pau-sa) ha sido dise\u00f1ado e implementado. Tanto miras como pau-sa tienen la distribuci\u00f3n de las antenas en forma de y, pero la topolog\u00eda del receptor y la unidad de procesado son muy diferentes. Este ph.D. Thesis se ha desarrollado en el marco de  european young investigador awards (euryi) 2004 proyecto titulado  \u00c2\u00bfpassive advanced unit (pau): a hybrid l-band radiometer, gnss reflectometer and
