Las mmps de membrana (mt1-, mt2-, mt3- y mt5-mmp) act\u00faan principalmente en la proteolisis pericelular pero pueden adem\u00e1s participar en los e ventos intracelulares a trav\u00e9s de su interacci\u00f3n con prote\u00ednas citos\u00f3licas. Nuestra hip\u00f3tesis es que la interacci\u00f3n de las colas citos\u00f3licas de las mt-mmp a distintas prote\u00ednas puede contribuir a sus funciones espec\u00edficas. En este trabajo hemos ident ificado nuevas prote\u00ednas que interaccionan con las colas citos\u00f3licas de las mt-mmps, caracteriz\u00e1ndose los residuos implicados en estas interacciones y explor\u00e1ndose sus posibles funciones biol\u00f3gicas. Se ha demostrado que la tirosina presente en la reg i\u00f3n central de la cola citos\u00f3lica de mt1-mmp es necesaria para la uni\u00f3n de p130cas y esta uni\u00f3n participa en la migraci\u00f3n y fusi\u00f3n de los progenitores mieloides. Se ha detectado la uni\u00f3n de mt1-, mt2- y mt3-mmp a la prote\u00edna erm moesina; las regiones  polib\u00e1sicas yuxtamembranal y central de la cola citos\u00f3lica de mt1-mmp act\u00faan como dominios clave y pueden regular la localizaci\u00f3n de mt1-mmp en la membrana plasm\u00e1tica. Finalmente, zo-1 ha sido identificada como una prote\u00edna diferencialmente asociada  a las mt-mmps; mt2-, mt3- y mt5-mmp son capaces de interaccionar con zo-1 al contrario que mt1-mmp. Los residuos en el motivo de uni\u00f3n a dominios pdz responsables de este diferente patr\u00f3n de asociaci\u00f3n han sido tambi\u00e9n identificados. Adem\u00e1s, hemos o bservado que mt2-mmp colocaliza con zo-1 en c\u00e9lulas mdck transfectadas establemente con mt2-mmp y que la expresi\u00f3n de mt2-mmp afecta la polarizaci\u00f3n de f-actina en estas c\u00e9lulas epiteliales. En resumen, en este trabajo se han identificado tres prote\u00ed nas de uni\u00f3n a actina como nuevas prote\u00ednas asociadas diferencialmente a las mt-mmps; esta asociaci\u00f3n diferencial puede contribuir a las funciones espec\u00edficas de las mt-mmp en distintos escenarios fisiopatol\u00f3gicos.  summary  matrix metalloproteinases  (mmps) are involved in a variety of biological processes by their ability of remodelling the extracellular microenvironment, modulating the activity of transmembrane receptors and regulating signaling cascades.
