Las plantas mutantes que carecen de estos dos sistemas de transporte (athak5,atakt1) son capaces de absorber k+, lo que indica que hay un sistema de absorci\u00f3n de k+ adicional que podr\u00eda compensar la ausencia de athak5 y atakt1. Nuestros resultados sugieren que un canal de entrada de cationes no selectivo, probablemente perteneciente a la familia de los cngc, puede ser la v\u00eda de entrada de k+ de las plantas athak5,atakt1.  por otro lado, la p\u00e9rdida de atakt1 confiere a la planta una mejor respuesta frente al estr\u00e9s h\u00eddrico. Mutant plants that do not have these two transport systems (athak5,atakt1) are capable of taking up k+, suggesting the existence of an additional k+ transport system when the other ones are knocked out. Our results suggest that a non-selective cation channel, probably belonging to cngc family, could be the k+ pathway for k+ uptake in these plants. in addition, atakt1 knock out produces plants with a better response to drought stress.
