Tras la purificaci\u00f3n, se obtuvieron tres isolectinas compuestas por dos cadenas polipept\u00eddicas de unos 30 kda no unidas por puentes disulfuro. La secuenciaci\u00f3n por espectrometr\u00eda de masas mostr\u00f3 p\u00e9ptidos con similitud a lectinas vegetales pertenecientes a la familia rip (prote\u00ednas inactivadoras de ribosomas) tipo ii.Se estudi\u00f3 la actividad biol\u00f3gica de las lectinas identificadas, as\u00ed como su afinidad por az\u00facares. Para ello, se ensay\u00f3 la actividad hemaglutinante frente a eritrocitos humanos, de oveja y rata. Dicha actividad se manten\u00eda estable frente al ph y la temperatura. Las lectinas purificadas mostraron afinidad por galactosa y n-acetilgalactosamina. Estas prote\u00ednas fueron capaces de reducir la s\u00edntesis proteica en sistemas libres de c\u00e9lulas. Todos estos datos suger\u00edan que las lectinas purificadas pertenec\u00edan a la familia rip tipo ii.Paralelamente se realizaron ensayos de citotoxicidad frente a distintas l\u00edneas celulares (tumorales y no tumorales). Las tres lectinas purificadas de e. Trigona resultaron citot\u00f3xicas frente a las l\u00edneas tumorales ensayadas mientras que no resultaron activas frente a las no tumorales.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
