Nuestro objetivo fue estudiar el miedo a las ca\u00eddas en  las personas mayores de 65 a\u00f1os y el estudio del mareo de repetici\u00f3n como factor desencadenante.  el fof es un s\u00edndrome de etiolog\u00eda multifactorial donde los factores de tipo f\u00edsico adquieren peso en su desarrollo, pero lo relevante de nuestro estudio es la asociaci\u00f3n tan estrecha entre el temor a la ca\u00edda y las afectaciones de \u00edndole psicol\u00f3gica que presentan estos ancianos y los ancianos con mareos de repetici\u00f3n como poblaci\u00f3n de riesgo. palabras clave: s\u00edndrome de temor a caerse, mareos, ancianos, preValencia, factores de riesgo.  summary  fear of falling (fof) is common in older people, however there is limited information on fear of falling in older people with recurrent dizziness. Our objective was to study fear of falling in people over 65 years and the study of the recurrent dizziness as a trigger. fof is a multifactorial syndrome where physical factors have importance in their development, but the most relevant of our study is close association between fear of falling and psychological disorders observed in this old participants and people over 65 years with recurrent
