This way, the intercultural communicative competence of our pupils can be promoted. \tbased on the previous idea and bearing in mind that textbooks are the main curricular resources used in the classrooms, we proceeded to analyze those textbooks devoted to the teaching of the french language. Most of these books are used in the third cycle of primary education in the region of murcia. We focused our attention on the didactic treatment of the cultural component.  the analysis was carried out separately. Afterwards, a comparative analysis between all the different publishing houses was undertaken. from the results obtained we have developed an improvement plan to introduce the cultural contents into the books that were analyzed.
