Para ello, se ha aplicado el modelo help (hydrologic evaluation of landfill performance) en el vertedero de fuente \u00e1lamo (murcia). teniendo en cuenta las debilidades del modelo, se estimaron los componentes del balance h\u00eddrico del vertedero para diferentes escenarios de modelaci\u00f3n, permitiendo la comparaci\u00f3n entre los lixiviados estimados por el modelo durante su explotaci\u00f3n y los medidos por los gestores del vertedero, o la aplicaci\u00f3n de distintas alternativas de sellado con objeto de comprobar su comportamiento en climas semi\u00e1ridos. Los resultados de los diferentes escenarios modelizados se presentan en este documento. se realiz\u00f3 un an\u00e1lisis coste &#8211; eficacia de las distintas alternativas de sellado para comprobar su eficacia en t\u00e9rminos econ\u00f3micos.  palabras clave: vertedero, lixiviados, balance h\u00eddrico, modelos hidrol\u00f3gicos.  in the present study, leachate generation in municipal solid waste landfills in semi-arid environments was analyzed. In order to do that, help (hydrologic evaluation of landfill performance) model was applied to the landfill located in fuente \u00e1lamo (murcia). taking into account the model limitations, the components of the hydrological balance were calculated to different modeling sceneries,  allowing us to make a comparison between leachate generation predicted by help model and real leachate measured in situ, or alternative landfill capping design in order to evaluate its performance at a semiarid site. The results of different modelling sceneries are presented in this document. \ta cost &#8211; effectiveness analysis for evaluating landfill closure caps was carried out to check their effectiveness
