Jakintza-arlo honen aurrerapausoa sekuentziazio-teknika berrien iraultzarekin batera ari da garatzen. Honi esker geroz eta informazio geniko handiagoa dago, orain dela urte batzuk arte hau bakarrik zenbait itu-organismoetarako eskuragarri ez bazegoen ere. Hala ere, oraindik ere, ekotoxikolog\u00edan interes handia duteneko espezieetan informazio genikoa murritza da. Hori dela eta, tesi honek hutsune hori betetzen saiatu da.
