Se estudi\u00f3 la proliferaci\u00f3n y la apoptosis (tunel +) de c\u00e9lulas intersticiales, la actividad sint\u00e9tica a testosterona, hsp-47 y col\u00e1geno iv (?5) de las c\u00e9lulas de leydig y la ultraestructura. Se c\u00e1lculo el volumen total de tejido conjuntivo. El envejecimiento disminuye la proliferaci\u00f3n de pericitos. El fotoperiodo corto altera la proliferaci\u00f3n y la apoptosis de las c\u00e9lulas intersticiales y la actividad sint\u00e9tica de las c\u00e9lulas de leydig. Disminuye el tejido conjuntivo intersticial. En conclusi\u00f3n el intersticio testicular del h\u00e1mster envejecido sufre pocas modificaciones. Un menor recambio de las c\u00e9lulas de leydig asociado a una muerte constante de ellas, necrosis, puede causar su disminuci\u00f3n. Tras el fotoperiodo corto los cambios en las c\u00e9lulas de leydig son evidentes, la proliferaci\u00f3n de los pericitos es mayor y no hay muerte celular en el intersticio.   palabras clave: test\u00edculos, intersticio testicular, c\u00e9lula de leydig, macr\u00f3fago, pericito, c\u00e9lula mioide, proliferaci\u00f3n, apoptosis, necrosis, tejido conjuntivo, col\u00e1geno iv (?5), hsp-47.  testicular interstitium in hamster during aging and after exposure to a short photoperiod were studied. The proliferation and apoptosis of interstitial cells and presence of testosterone, hsp-47 and collagen iv (?5) in the leydig cells were studied histochemically and semiquantitatively. The total volume of connective tissue and the ultrastructure of the interstitial cells were studied. The aging only diminished the proliferation of pericytes. The regression resulting from short photoperiod altered the proliferation and apoptosis of interstitial cells and the synthetic activity of the leydig cells. Interstitial connective tissue was also diminished. In conclusion, the hamster testicular interstitium undergoes little modification with aging, although the decrease in the leydig cell renewal rate and constant cell death -necrosis- may result in their diminution. In contrast, after exposure to a short photoperiod, the changes in leydig cells are evident and pericyte proliferation is greater, while no cell death is observed in the interstitium.   key words:
