Entre los principales m\u00e9todos de polimerizaci\u00f3n la t\u00e9cnica conocida como capa-a-capa ha emergido con gran fuerza en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os dada sus numerosas ventajas y propiedades. En este contexto, la s\u00edntesis de pol\u00edmeros conductores mediante este procedimiento permiti\u00f3 comprender y analizar el efecto sin\u00e9rgico entre capas, consiguientemente la caracterizaci\u00f3n de estos nuevos materiales a partir de t\u00e9cnicas estructurales, espectrosc\u00f3picas, morfol\u00f3gicas, electroqu\u00edmicas y \u00f3pticas permiti\u00f3 indagar y desarrollar aplicaciones en diferentes campos tecnol\u00f3gicos tales como la electr\u00f3nica o la corrosi\u00f3n. Otro de los factores que influyen en las propiedades de los pol\u00edmeros conductores es el proceso de funcionalizaci\u00f3n. En esta tesis, la incorporaci\u00f3n de grupos funcionales con elevado car\u00e1cter aceptor de electrones centr\u00f3 una parte importante del trabajo, de este modo, los pol\u00edmeros conductores funcionalizados con \u00e1tomos halogenados o mediante el grupo ciano evidenciaron una gran influencia en las propiedades f\u00edsicas, estructurales, \u00f3pticas y morfol\u00f3gicas de las estructuras qu\u00edmicas en tiofeno y pirrol. La modificaci\u00f3n de determinadas propiedades en estos pol\u00edmeros permiti\u00f3 desarrollar componentes basados en sensores qu\u00edmicos o dispositivos electrocr\u00f3micos. Acorde a esta tem\u00e1tica, la modificaci\u00f3n de la superficie juega tambi\u00e9n un papel importante y crucial en las propiedades de los pol\u00edmeros conductores durante el proceso de s\u00edntesis electroqu\u00edmica. An\u00e1logamente al caso de la funcionalizaci\u00f3n el estudio de la modificaci\u00f3n de la superficie denot\u00f3 una gran expectativa en el desarrollo de nuevos supercondensadores org\u00e1nicos, as\u00ed como una gran alternativa para aplicaci\u00f3n como inhibidores de corrosi\u00f3n. Finalmente, en el \u00e1mbito experimental de esta tesis, se han orientado estudios en el campo de la nanotecnolog\u00eda en la s\u00edntesis y caracterizaci\u00f3n de nuevos materiales h\u00edbridos nanocompuestos con interesantes propiedades optoelectr\u00f3nicas y electroqu\u00edmicas. A nivel te\u00f3rico, la contribuci\u00f3n de c\u00e1lculos te\u00f3ricos basados en mec\u00e1nica qu\u00e1ntica permitieron predecir determinadas propiedades electr\u00f3nicas y estructurales de pol\u00edmeros conductores, cuyos valores fueron corroborados experimentalmente. As\u00ed, la qu\u00edmica te\u00f3rica proporcion\u00f3 un amplio conocimiento en la exploraci\u00f3n y comprensi\u00f3n de los mecanismos estructurales de los pol\u00edmeros
