La primera es el uso de las larvas del insecto como biorreactor para la producci\u00f3n de prote\u00edna recombinante, mediante la inoculaci\u00f3n con un vector de expresi\u00f3n baculovirus. Se realiz\u00f3 un ciclo completo de producci\u00f3n de una prote\u00edna modelo, la dihidrofolato reductasa. Se desarroll\u00f3 la cr\u00eda del insecto en una dieta artificial, se prepar\u00f3 la construcci\u00f3n viral adecuada, se inocul\u00f3 en larvas y se extrajo y purific\u00f3 la prote\u00edna expresada. La segunda aplicaci\u00f3n consiste en la elaboraci\u00f3n de la seda como biomaterial para crecimiento y diferenciaci\u00f3n celular en la reconstrucci\u00f3n de tejidos. Se optimiz\u00f3 la fabricaci\u00f3n de mallas de micro y nanofibras mediante electrohilatura, funcionaliz\u00e1ndolas posteriormente con polipirrol para hacerlas electroconductoras. Se evalu\u00f3 la biocompatibilidad de las mismas con cultivos de fibroblastos y c\u00e9lulas madre mesenquimales de m\u00e9dula \u00f3sea. palabras clave: gusano de seda, fibro\u00edna, sericicultura, biomateriales, polipirrol, electrohilado.  summary: the present thesis aims to develop some recent non-textile applications of silkworm (bombyx mori). The first is the use of the insect larvae as a bioreactor for the production of recombinant protein, through the inoculation with a baculovirus expression vector. A complete cycle of production was made with the model enzyme dihydrofolate reductase. The rearing of the insect in an artificial diet was developed. After preparing a suitable construct, it was inoculated in larvae and the expressed protein was extracted from the insects and purified. The second application consists of the elaboration of silk as biomaterial for the fabrication of scaffolds for growth and cellular differentiation in tissue regeneration. The fabrication of micro- and nanofiber mats by electrospinning was optimized. The mats were also functionalized with polypyrrole for making them electroconductive. Cell culture methods were carried out, using human fibroblasts and human mesenchymal stem cells, for testing biocompatibility. key words: silkworm, fibroin, sericulture, biomaterials, polypyrrole,
