La t\u00e9cnica estad\u00edstica data interpolating eofs (dineof) se ha empleado en esta tesis para reconstruir diferentes bases de datos de sst de sat\u00e9lite correspondientes al periodo 1981-2010 y al \u00e1rea del golfo de bizkaia. En un primer caso se ha demostrado la posible aplicabilidad de la t\u00e9cnica en modo operacional. En un segundo paso, se ha evaluado la t\u00e9cnica en series de im\u00e1genes de sat\u00e9lite de 25-30 a\u00f1os. De este estudio se concluye, entre otros aspectos m\u00e1s t\u00e9cnicos, que debido a que el ciclo estacional muestra cierta variabilidad interanual, se debe retener el ciclo estacional al reconstruir largas series de im\u00e1genes de sst, al menos en el caso del golfo de bizkaia. Estas reconstrucciones, una vez verificadas con medidas independientes in-situ, se han empleado, en conjunci\u00f3n con datos de variables atmosf\u00e9ricas superficiales obtenidas de diferentes rean\u00e1lisis atmosf\u00e9ricos, para deducir los patrones de interacci\u00f3n atm\u00f3sfera-oc\u00e9ano el \u00e1rea de inter\u00e9s, as\u00ed como la relaci\u00f3n de estos patrones y los dos principales patrones de teleconexi\u00f3n correspondientes al atl\u00e1ntico norte, hall\u00e1ndose relaciones, aunque no preferenciales con ambas dos. En un \u00faltimo paso, se ha realizado una reconstrucci\u00f3n de la sst invernal de los \u00faltimos 30 a\u00f1os, la cual una vez verificada, se ha empleado para deducir una serie de frecuencia diaria de la se\u00f1al superficial de la corriente iberian poleward current (ipc) mediante un an\u00e1lisis de componentes principales. Esta serie a sido validada haciendo uso de datos de perfiles verticales de temperatura y salinidad.
