Este procedimiento ralentiza el diagn\u00f3stico, lo que conlleva en muchos casos significativas p\u00e9rdidas econ\u00f3micas a los ganaderos, que deben inmovilizar las explotaciones afectadas durante este proceso. En la vigilancia seroepidemiol\u00f3 gica de la evp que se hace en espa\u00f1a (pa\u00eds libre de la evp) se dan con frecuencia mayor de la esperada reacciones falsamente positivas al vevp, al tiempo que es habitual aislar virus que no son evp en heces porcinas de las explotaciones afectadas. En esta tesis se ha estudiado la naturaleza de estos virus mediante las t\u00e9cnicas moleculares disponibles y se han desarrollado herramientas diagn\u00f3sticas que permitan distinguirlos del vevp. Para ello se ha validado una t\u00e9cnica de rrt-pcr para todos l os genotipos del g\u00c2\u00ba teschovirus y se ha dise\u00f1ado una t\u00e9cnica de caracterizaci\u00f3n de aislados v\u00edricos del g\u00c2\u00ba teschovirus, basada en la amplificaci\u00f3n por rt-pcr y posterior secuenciaci\u00f3n de la regi\u00f3n codificante de la prote\u00edna vp1, que ha permitido la
