La detecci\u00f3n temprana de riesgo de nd antes de que un da\u00f1o renal avanzado haya ocurrido supondr\u00eda un gran avance en la lucha contra esta enfermedad. Con ese fin, en esta tesis doctoral, se ha abordado el estudio prote\u00f3mico de la nd desde dos puntos de vista distintos. Por un lado se ha llevado a cabo por primera vez un an\u00e1lisis cualitativo y cuantitativo del conjunto de prote\u00ednas que componen los exosomas de or ina humana, en el contexto de la nd. Este estudio nos ha permitido identificar 352 prote\u00ednas cuya presencia en exosomas de orina no hab\u00eda sido descrita hasta el momento. Ha permitido adem\u00e1s establecer, un panel de 25 prote\u00ednas significativamente vari adas en nefropat\u00eda diab\u00e9tica. Por otra parte hemos estudiado el tejido renal de animales que presentaban nd en estadios tempranos. Este estudio nos ha permitido detectar cambios a nivel de expresi\u00f3n proteica, que ocurren al inicio de la enfermedad da ndo lugar a una serie de posibles biomarcadores tempranos de la misma (regucalcina).
