El objetivo principal de esta tesis doctoral es determinar los par\u00e1metros reproductivos que afectan a la capacidad reproductiva del listado (katsuwonus pelamis) en el oc\u00e9ano indico, y evaluar la influencia que las caracter\u00edsticas f\u00edsicas y fisiol\u00f3gicas ejercen sobre dichos par\u00e1metros. Mediante el an\u00e1lisis de datos biol\u00f3gicos recogidos durante 2009 y 2010 se ha determinado que el listado presenta un desarrollo ovocitario asincr\u00f3nico, fecundidad indeterminada y parcial. La puesta es anual con picos en la actividad y capacidad reproductora en las \u00e9pocas de monz\u00f3n. Por cada evento de puesta produce 140 \u00c2\u00b1 64 huevos por gramo de pez. La capacidad reproductora de la especie no est\u00e1 directamente relacionada con el tama\u00f1o del pez, la cual parece que aumenta durante el primer a\u00f1o de puesta. Esta tambi\u00e9n podr\u00eda depender de la etapa del desarrollo ovocitario en el que se encuentre cada individuo, al principio o al final de la \u00e9poca individual de puesta. La talla de primera madurez sexual definida como la talla a la que el 50% de las hembras son maduras es de 39.9 cm. Por otro lado, con el fin de caracterizar el balance energ\u00e9tico durante el proceso de maduraci\u00f3n se cuantifico la composici\u00f3n lip\u00eddica del tejido reproductivo, hep\u00e1tico y som\u00e1tico. La reproducci\u00f3n del listado parece ser independiente de las reservas energ\u00e9ticas y basada en la energ\u00eda externa,\u00c2\u00bfincome breeder\u00c2\u00bf.
