{"id":114258,"date":"2013-07-06T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2013-07-06T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.deberes.net\/tesis\/sin-categoria\/ontology-customization-for-biomedical-informatics\/"},"modified":"2013-07-06T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2013-07-06T00:00:00","slug":"ontology-customization-for-biomedical-informatics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.deberes.net\/tesis\/bases-de-datos\/ontology-customization-for-biomedical-informatics\/","title":{"rendered":"Ontology customization for biomedical informatics"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Tesis doctoral de <strong> Pablo Lopez Garcia <\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Una buena parte de la investigaci\u00f3n m\u00e1s reciente en los campos de la web sem\u00e1ntica y la inform\u00e1tica biom\u00e9dica se ha centrado en estudiar c\u00f3mo reducir el tama\u00f1o y la complejidad de una ontolog\u00eda, y otra parte importante en c\u00f3mo resolver el problema de la heterogeneidad de ontolog\u00edas, tanto a nivel de dominio como de formatos de representaci\u00f3n. El objetivo principal de esta tesis es entender mejor el papel que pueden jugar las tecnolog\u00edas sem\u00e1nticas como herramientas para superar ambos obst\u00e1culos  personalizando las ontolog\u00edas a un campo o dominio de aplicaci\u00f3n concreto. En primer lugar se estudia el problema de la reducci\u00f3n de complejidad y tama\u00f1o utilizando t\u00e9cnicas de extracci\u00f3n de m\u00f3dulos basadas en l\u00f3gica, t\u00e9cnicas de extracci\u00f3n de subconjuntos basadas en grafos, y t\u00e9cnicas de filtrado basadas en frecuencia, utilizando snomed ct como ontolog\u00eda de referencia. Mediante un caso de estudio se demuestra que las t\u00e9cnicas de recorrido de grafos de pueden combinar con los datos de frecuencia de aparici\u00f3n de los t\u00e9rminos en un corpus de referencia para as\u00ed poder la ontolog\u00eda y obtener subconjuntos compactos y con buena cobertura en aplicaciones de anotaci\u00f3n de textos biom\u00e9dicos. En segundo lugar, se estudian los repositorios de ontolog\u00edas biom\u00e9dicas con mappings como herramientas para inferir nuevos subconjuntos de inter\u00e9s. Se propone un caso de estudio de anotaci\u00f3n utilizando un subconjunto de referencia en el dominio de las enfermedades (subconjunto core de snomed ct) y un subconjunto objetivo a extraer de otra ontolog\u00eda diferente en el dominio de los medicamentos (rxnorm) utilizando tecnolog\u00edas sem\u00e1nticas est\u00e1ndar: umls como repositorio de ontolog\u00edas biom\u00e9dicas y ndf-rt como ontolog\u00eda que conecta el dominio de las enfermedades y los medicamentos.
