Sin embargo, debido a su expansi\u00f3n, las exigencias medioambientales tambi\u00e9n se han hecho m\u00e1s rigurosas, en especial aquellas referentes al ruido emitido por el mismo. En esta l\u00ednea, diversos autores han llevado a cabo un estudio exhaustivo tanto de la predicci\u00f3n del ruido generado por el ferrocarril como del dise\u00f1o de soluciones para su reducci\u00f3n. Entre las diferentes fuentes de ruido, la rueda representa un componente importante y su an\u00e1lisis espec\u00edfico ha suscitado el inter\u00e9s de muchos investigadores. As\u00ed, se ha llegado a la conclusi\u00f3n de que aumentar el amortiguamiento de la rueda es un m\u00e9todo efectivo para reducir el ruido generado por la misma. En este sentido, el concepto de rueda amortiguada es equivalente a rueda insonorizada.  esta tesis se ha centrado en desarrollar una metodolog\u00eda para la caracterizaci\u00f3n ac\u00fastica de ruedas ferroviarias, tanto con soluciones amortiguadoras como sin ellas. \u00e9sta podr\u00e1 servir como herramienta flexible y de bajo coste computacional que acompa\u00f1e a las empresas en las etapas de dise\u00f1o de ruedas de ferrocarril silenciosas.  por otro lado, entre las soluciones disponibles hoy en d\u00eda, los amortiguadores multicapa tipo s\u00e1ndwich presentan unas posibilidades de dise\u00f1o superiores al resto de soluciones, pudi\u00e9ndose adaptar para solventar problemas de ruido de diversas caracter\u00edsticas. Sin embargo, a\u00fan cuando se sabe que se usan en la actualidad en ruedas de ferrocarriles, se echa en falta un estudio exhaustivo de los mismos. Este es el vac\u00edo que pretende llenar esta tesis, realizando un an\u00e1lisis completo de este tipo de soluci\u00f3n, desde el entendimiento de su mecanismo de reducci\u00f3n de ruido, su modelizaci\u00f3n y la influencia de sus par\u00e1metros, hasta la predicci\u00f3n te\u00f3rica de su eficiencia.  como conclusi\u00f3n, esta tesis presenta unas metodolog\u00edas para (1) la evaluaci\u00f3n de ruedas de ferrocarril sin insonorizar, (2) la comparaci\u00f3n num\u00e9rica de sistemas insonorizadores, (3) el modelado y dise\u00f1o de soluciones basadas en amortiguadores multicapa tipo s\u00e1ndwich y (4) la predicci\u00f3n te\u00f3rica de la efectividad de las mismas al ser instaladas en una rueda de ferrocarril.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos acad\u00e9micos de la
