materiales peligrosos es una parte necesaria del ciclo de vida y de la operaci\u00f3n regular de cualquier planta de procesos que intr\u00ednsecamente entra\u00f1a ciertos riesgos y peligros.   los resultados de an\u00e1lisis hist\u00f3ricos revelan que el 17% de los accidentes graves en la industria de procesos ocurren en terminales de almacenamiento, y la nfpa de usa report\u00f3 que, en 2009, 13% de los grandes incendios que ocurrieron en el pa\u00eds tuvieron lugar en instalaciones de almacenamiento, causando $69.980.000 en p\u00e9rdidas.   por lo tanto, es claro que una metodolog\u00eda para la optimizaci\u00f3n del dise\u00f1o de terminales de almacenamiento desde el punto de vista de la seguridad de procesos podr\u00eda ser muy \u00fatil.   una metodolog\u00eda que permite hacer esto, a trav\u00e9s de la combinaci\u00f3n del an\u00e1lisis cuantitativo de riesgos, el dise\u00f1o inherentemente seguro y la optimizaci\u00f3n, ha sido desarrollada en esta tesis.   la metodolog\u00eda ha sido aplicada a un caso de estudio real, obteni\u00e9ndose resultados que la validan como una herramienta \u00fatil para el dise\u00f1o de terminales de
