Posteriormente se han administrado sustancias antioxidantes con capacidad radioprotectora (dimetilsulf\u00f3xido, 6-n-propil-2-tiouracilo, procianidinas y un extracto de flavonoides c\u00edtricos) para cuantificar un posible efecto protector tambi\u00e9n en el da\u00f1o inducido por la exposici\u00f3n a los campos electromagn\u00e9ticos ensayados. Nuestros resultados muestran un efecto genot\u00f3xico inducido por los campos electromagn\u00e9ticos ensayados que no disminuye con la administraci\u00f3n de los antioxidantes y sugieren un mecanismo lesivo sobre el material gen\u00e9tico diferente al de la producci\u00f3n de radicales libres inducido por los campos electromagn\u00e9ticos ensayados.  keywords: campos magn\u00e9ticos elf-emf, efectos genot\u00f3xicos, micron\u00facleos, efectos de la radiaci\u00f3n, antioxidantes              abstract.  a possible genotoxic effect induced by extremely low-frequency electromagnetic fields (elm-emf) on chromosome damage determined by measuring the increase in the induction of micronuclei formation both in vivo, in rodent bone marrow polychromatophilic erythroblasts, and in vitro, in cytokinesis-blocked human lymphocytes, is presented; comparing these with the genotoxic damage induced by x-rays. Subsequently, antioxidant substances with radioprotective capacities (dimethylsulphoxide, 6-n-propyl-2-thiouracil, procyanidins and an extract of citrus flavonoids) were administered in order to quantify the possible protective effects of these substances against the damage induced by exposure to the electromagnetic fields tested. Our results shows a genotoxic effect induced by electromagnetic fields that does not decrease with administration of antioxidants and thus suggest a different mechanism of damage on genetic material
