Sin embargo es un pol\u00edmero muy hidr\u00f3fobo, con una baja humectabilidad y el anclaje de biomol\u00e9culas per s\u00e9 no es sencillo. Para mejorar el material en este sentido se puden modificar la superficie por m\u00e9todos qu\u00edmicos en mojado dotando de propiedades f\u00edsicas y qu\u00edmicas adaptadas a los fines deseados. Como estos m\u00e9todos emplean principalmente las reacciones de la qu\u00edmica org\u00e1nica general, se puede desarrollar condiciones experimentales que permiten la formaci\u00f3n selectiga y reproducible de determinados grupos funcionales. Como paso de pre-activaci\u00f3n de las superficies de poliestireno se ha estudiado la clorosulfonaci\u00f3n que conduce a la formaci\u00f3n de grupos clorosulfonilo, que son muy reactivos frente a aminas primarias alif\u00e1ticas, lo que permite el anclaje posterior de mol\u00e9culas a este grupo y fijarse convalentemente  en condiciones suaves. De esta manera se puede modificar el ps controladamente con grupos que faciliten la uni\u00f3n de biomol\u00e9culas, como grupos amina y grupos carbox\u00edlicos.Este trabajo se centra en la obtenci\u00f3n de superficies transparantes y qu\u00edmicamente controladas sobre poliestireno, en cuanto a la cantidad de grupos funcionales y su distancia creada a la superficie. El objetivo es crear superficies que permitan una posterior inmovilizaci\u00f3n de anticuerpos con una densidad y orientaci\u00f3n \u00f3ptima en superficie que influya directamente en la sensibilidad de los inmunoensayos. La mejora en la sensibilidad de ciertos inmunoensayos podr\u00eda revolucionar el diagn\u00f3stico de algunas enfermedades e incluso aumentar el ratio de pacientes
