La preparaci\u00f3n de poli\u00e9steres a partir de fuentes renovables genera cada vez m\u00e1s inter\u00e9s, tanto en la industria como en el mundo acad\u00e9mico. En esta tesis se emplean fuentes naturales para desarrollar nuevos poli\u00e9steres alif\u00e1ticos y arom\u00e1ticos con propiedades mejoradas, a partir de mon\u00f3meros c\u00edclicos derivados de carbohidratos, i.E. Un \u00e1cido ald\u00e1rico acetalizado bic\u00edclico derivado de d-galactosa, alditoles acetalizados bic\u00edclicos derivados de d-galactosa y d-manosa, y un alditol acetalizado c\u00edclico derivado de \u00e1cido l-tart\u00e1rico.  los nuevos poli\u00e9steres alif\u00e1ticos derivados de \u00e1cido galact\u00e1rico y d-mannitol acetalizado bic\u00edclico, que son materiales biodegradables, destacan por presentar una rigidez mejorada respecto a los poli\u00e9steres alif\u00e1ticos com\u00fanmente usados hasta ahora, hecho que influencia invariablemente sus propiedades t\u00e9rmicas y mec\u00e1nicas. Tambi\u00e9n se reporta el uso de mon\u00f3meros bic\u00edclicos acetalizados derivados de carbohidratos para la preparaci\u00f3n de copoli\u00e9steres poli(alquilen tereftalato)s con microestructura al azar, mediante policondensaci\u00f3n en fundido (mp). Se emplean a,\u00c2\u00bf-alcanodioles lineales con diferentes longitudes, y las copolimerizaciones con mon\u00f3meros bic\u00edclicos se llevan a cabo en un amplio rango de composiciones, lo que permite desarrollar un estudio estructura-propiedades detallado. El efecto de la unidad renovable en las propiedades t\u00e9rmicas y mec\u00e1nicas del poli\u00e9ster depende de qu\u00e9 unidad no renovable, diol o di\u00e1cido, reemplaza. La incorporaci\u00f3n de alditoles acetalizados aumenta la estabilidad t\u00e9rmica, la temperatura de transici\u00f3n v\u00edtrea y el m\u00f3dulo el\u00e1stico. Por contra, estos par\u00e1metros disminuyen cuando las unidades tereft\u00e1licas se reemplazan por \u00e1cido galact\u00e1rico acetalizado bic\u00edclico. Las unidades renovables introducidas afectan tambi\u00e9n a la degradabilidad hidrol\u00edtica y enzim\u00e1tica de los poli\u00e9steres. Mediante la t\u00e9cnica de modificaci\u00f3n en estado s\u00f3lido (ssm), se incorporan alditoles c\u00edclicos acetalizados a la fase amorfa del poli(butilen tereftalato), lo cual conlleva a un aumento de su temperatura de transici\u00f3n v\u00edtrea. Los copoli\u00e9steres resultantes presentan una microestructura en bloques, que los dota de propiedades t\u00e9rmicas superiores respecto a los copoli\u00e9steres an\u00e1logos con microestructura al azar preparados mediante mp.  en esta tesis tambi\u00e9n se comparan las caracter\u00edsticas y propiedades del mon\u00f3mero isosorbide y los alditoles acetalizados bic\u00edclicos para la s\u00edntesis de poli\u00e9steres arom\u00e1ticos, debido a su proximidad estructural, as\u00ed como a su uso potencial como mon\u00f3meros en policondensaciones. Se destaca la mayor facilidad de reacci\u00f3n en las condiciones empleadas de los alditoles acetalizados bic\u00edclicos comparados con isosorbide. Tambi\u00e9n se estudia la influencia de la simetr\u00eda y rigidez de la estructura bic\u00edclica en las propiedades t\u00e9rmicas de los copoli\u00e9steres.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>Datos
