If the training program is correctly described, the evaluation system is not specified.In order to address this need, an extensive literature search was conducted but no validated instrument was found to objectively assess these competencies or to identify opportunities for improvement as education and training moves forward.A validated instrument to assess the competencies of general nurses was found: the \u00c2\u00bfecoenf\u00c2\u00bf scale, which was adapted with expert consensus techniques, developing and validating nine rubrics, along with the criteria and descriptors, related to the nine competency units and their learning outcomes. This resulted in the ecoenfped scale, which can be applied in the field of advanced nursing practice in paediatrics for the assessment of paediatric intern nurses in every rotation, proving that they have acquired the 28 competencies of specialist nurses. Implicit in this instrument is the minimum level of achievement required in each of the rotations made during the two years of internship, which they will have to prove and pass after concluding the specialisation.Evaluaci\u00f3n de competencias del enfermero especialista en enfermer\u00eda pedi\u00e1trica, utilizando la escala ecoenf palabras clave: evaluaci\u00f3n de competencias, enfermero residente, cuidados avanzados pedi\u00e1tricos.En espa\u00f1a la formaci\u00f3n de enfermeras especialistas en pediatr\u00eda, est\u00e1 regulada por el real decreto 450\/2005, concret\u00e1ndose su perfil y programa formativo en la orden sas 1730\/2010.Las competencias en este \u00e1mbito se adquieren durante dos a\u00f1os de residencia en equipos multiprofesionales de pediatr\u00eda, tanto en centros de atenci\u00f3n primaria, como en hospitales acreditados; y son las  siguientes: comunicaci\u00f3n, gesti\u00f3n, docencia, investigaci\u00f3n e intervenci\u00f3n avanzada en reci\u00e9n nacidos, ni\u00f1os y adolescentes sanos, con patolog\u00eda aguda y\/o cr\u00f3nica, atendidos en urgencias y en cuidados intensivos.Si bien est\u00e1 descrito  el programa formativo, no se especifica el sistema de evaluaci\u00f3n.Para dar respuesta a esta necesidad, se realiz\u00f3 una extensa b\u00fasqueda bibliogr\u00e1fica, no encontr\u00e1ndose un instrumento validado que eval\u00fae objetivamente estas  competencias, y que identifique oportunidades de mejora seg\u00fan avanza la formaci\u00f3n.Se encontr\u00f3 un instrumento validado para la evaluaci\u00f3n de las competencias del enfermero generalista, la escala \u00c2\u00bfecoenf\u00c2\u00bf; y se procedi\u00f3, mediante t\u00e9cnicas de consenso de expertos, a su adaptaci\u00f3n, elaborando y validando nueve r\u00fabricas, con los  criterios y descriptores, relacionada con nueve las unidades competenciales y sus resultados de aprendizaje. El resultado es la escala ecoenfped, que puede aplicarse en el \u00e1mbito del enfermero de pr\u00e1ctica avanzada en pediatr\u00eda para la  evaluaci\u00f3n de los eir de pediatr\u00eda en cada una de sus rotaciones, evidenciando la adquisici\u00f3n de  las 28 competencias del enfermero especialista. Este instrumento lleva impl\u00edcito el nivel de logro m\u00ednimo exigible en cada una de las rotaciones que efect\u00faen a lo largo de los dos a\u00f1os que dura el aprendizaje en pr\u00e1cticas y
