\u00f3pticas de pl\u00e1stico multin\u00facleo, desarrolladas en los \u00faltimos tiempos, presentan una elevada capacidad de transmisi\u00f3n y bajas p\u00e9rdidas por curvatura, lo que las hacen muy adecuadas para determinadas aplicaciones tales como redes en el hogar, transmisi\u00f3n de im\u00e1genes a trav\u00e9s de un endoscopio, etc. Debido al creciente inter\u00e9s por parte de la industria en estas fibras, en esta tesis se ha realizado un estudio sobre ellas: por un lado, se ha desarrollado un modelo de trazado de rayos que explica la propagaci\u00f3n de la luz en el interior de estas fibras, teniendo en cuenta la diafon\u00eda que se produce entre sus distintos n\u00facleos.Por otro lado, se han realizado tanto medidas experimentales como simulaciones de la atenuaci\u00f3n y ancho de banda de diferentes tipos de fibras multin\u00facleo para analizar el comportamiento de cada una de ellas y analizar la influencia de sus diferentes caracter\u00edsticas.Adem\u00e1s, se han llevado a cabo medidas de las p\u00e9rdidas debidas a desalineamientos entre dos fibras multin\u00facleo, teniendo en cuenta que en estas fibras aparece un nuevo tipo de desalineamiento: el desalineamiento
