La monitorizaci\u00f3n en tiempo real de m\u00faltiples variables destapa un horizonte de atractivas aplicaciones en diversos sectores. los avances obtenidos en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os tanto en los protocolos de comunicaci\u00f3n como en el \u00e1mbito de la sens\u00f3rica han conseguido que la aplicaci\u00f3n de redes de sensores inal\u00e1mbricas sea cada vez m\u00e1s extensa en distintos \u00e1mbitos. Su implantaci\u00f3n en el campo de la medicina resulta de especial inter\u00e9s, posibilitando la monitorizaci\u00f3n tanto de pacientes hospitalizados como de enfermos que requieran un continuo control de par\u00e1metros vitales durante su vida cotidiana.  estas configuraciones extraen informaci\u00f3n de gran utilidad, posibilitando un r\u00e1pida actuaci\u00f3n en el caso de una crisis o permitiendo actuar y reaccionar con mayor anticipaci\u00f3n. La prestaci\u00f3n y la atenci\u00f3n m\u00e9dica se ven claramente mejoradas a trav\u00e9s del concepto de cuidado y control permanentes. debido a esto, esta tesis doctoral se ha centrado en el dise\u00f1o, implementaci\u00f3n y caracterizaci\u00f3n de un sensor de temperatura de ultra-bajo consumo utilizando una arquitectura novedosa conocida como self-resonant active inductor aplicable a
