Sin embargo, el mayor aporte a la comunidad cient\u00edfica de esta tesis viene dado por la utilizaci\u00f3n de los sistemas de reacci\u00f3n denominados microrreactores para la producci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3geno. Este tipo de sistemas est\u00e1n siendo hoy en d\u00eda objeto de estudio ya que son una soluci\u00f3n viable a la producci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3geno de manera descentralizada y porque adem\u00e1s, presentan varias ventajas en comparaci\u00f3n con los m\u00e9todos actuales de producci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3geno. Asimismo, la comparaci\u00f3n entre sistemas de reacci\u00f3n convencionales y los microrreactores, tambi\u00e9n ha sido objeto de estudio en la presente tesis. De igual modo, para los procesos de reformado estudiados, se han desarrollado varios sistemas catal\u00edticos que han mostrado altas actividades en cuanto a conversi\u00f3n de reactivos se refiere, gran selectividad a hidr\u00f3geno y, muy buena estabilidad en cuanto a operaci\u00f3n y durabilidad se refiere. Inicialmente, se emple\u00f3 metano y gas natural como fuentes de alimentaci\u00f3n no renovables, llevando a cabo una comparativa de los dos sistemas de reacci\u00f3n previamente mencionados. Sin embargo, otro de los objetivos de la presente tesis ha sido el uso de fuentes de alimentaci\u00f3n renovables, ya que uno de los grandes retos de la comunidad cient\u00edfica recae en la obtenci\u00f3n de un producto limpio, el hidr\u00f3geno, a partir de recursos renovables. De este modo, la mayor parte del trabajo se basa en el estudio de la producci\u00f3n de hidr\u00f3geno a partir de biog\u00e1s. Este gas, procedente de la descomposici\u00f3n de la materia org\u00e1nica como la biomasa, se compone pr\u00e1cticamente de metano y di\u00f3xido de carbono. De este modo, convirtiendo estos dos gases, los dos contribuyen en gran medida al denominado efecto invernadero, a hidr\u00f3geno, los beneficios econ\u00f3micos, ambientales y sociales alcanzables ser\u00edan de gran relevancia.
