Su importancia estriba en que constituyen un punto de encuentro en las complejas v\u00edas que controlan pr\u00e1cticamente la totalidad de procesos de la fisiolog\u00eda celular. Las peque\u00f1as gtpasas de la familia rho son mol\u00e9culas que funcionan a modo de interruptores moleculares ciclando entre un estado inactivo (unido a gdp) y un estado activo (unido a gtp). Est\u00e1n reguladas por factores intercambiadores de nucle\u00f3tidos de guanosina (gefs), prote\u00ednas activadoras de las gtpasas (gaps) y por los inhibidores de la disociaci\u00f3n de nucle\u00f3tidos de guanina (gdis).Dentro de las gtpasas de la familia rho caben destacar rho a, rac1 y cdc42, implicadas en procesos celulares como la organizaci\u00f3n del citoesqueleto de actina necesaria para la migraci\u00f3n celular y la secreci\u00f3n de prote\u00ednas y\/o en la transcripci\u00f3n g\u00e9nica. En el sistema linfoide las gtpasas participan en cascadas de se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n que se activan tras la uni\u00f3n del ant\u00edgeno al receptor. Es conocido el papel de estas gtpasas en la transmisi\u00f3n de se\u00f1ales derivadas del receptor de linfocitos t. Sin embargo, es pr\u00e1cticamente desconocida la implicaci\u00f3n que tiene en la transmisi\u00f3n de las se\u00f1ales tras la uni\u00f3n de la citocina il-2 a su receptor.En este trabajo nos hemos centrado en descifrar cu\u00e1l o cu\u00e1les son los intermediarios moleculares implicados en la conducci\u00f3n de la se\u00f1al entre el receptor de il-2 y rac1\/pygm. Describiendo que la il-2 transduce las se\u00f1ales celulares hacia la activaci\u00f3n de pygm a trav\u00e9s de la ruta p56lck\/plc\u00c2\u00bf1\/pkc\u00c2\u00bf\/\u00c2\u00bfpix\/rac1. Adem\u00e1s tambi\u00e9n hemos observado que la pygm se puede activar de manera independiente de il-2 y rac pero dependiente de la ruta de rap\/raf-1\/ac.Resultados previos del grupo demostraron que la activaci\u00f3n de pygm era transitoria alcanzando su pico m\u00e1ximo de actividad a los 10 min de la estimulaci\u00f3n. Por medio de un abordaje prote\u00f3mico hemos examinado el papel de la liberaci\u00f3n de mon\u00f3meros de glucosa en la se\u00f1alizaci\u00f3n intracelular mediada por il-2; observando que la
